I liked this pan until I noticed a thick gray metallic sheen coming up on my hands when I handled the pan. The sheen is inside and out. I am now horrified I have been using this for months to bake bread for my baby -- hope the cheap chinese manufacturing hasn't poisoned him!
As of January 14, 2009, the country of manufacture listed for this product is USA. I received my order today and was very disappointed to find out that the pans are not made here. They are made in China.
The pans themselves are constructed beautifully and bake beautifully as well... but mine are 'folded' on the inside (as in welded into a shape with an envelope type fold) and upon washing liquid catches in these folds and oozes out (no matter how long I spend tilting and drying). I ordered 2 pans and both have the same problem.
This pan works EXACTLY as described. I love it and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Would make a great gift for your favorite cook!
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that when I first used it and went to take it out of the oven, I grabbed what I thought were the handles and lifted out. What I did in reality was lift the meat out of the pan and it tumbled out. Messy. Now I know to grab the thing from the bottom. So be careful. Otherwise, it's a great product - fat drains away, washes well and holds over 2 lbs. of meat.
These pans bake really well and cleanup is easy. the only problem that i've had is that the connector is coming loose on the sides of the pans which makes it a little tricky getting them in and out of the oven. But other than that they are nice little pans.
What a huge disappointment!In the description, it says product is made in Austria, now, its not mention anymore...When I've got it, I've noticed that the product is poorly made, strings are coming out,And in general, that is very low quality item, and then I've noticed it's made in china…I deliberately chose the more expensive (3 times the price to be exact) brotform knowing I'llGet a good quality product, Instead, I got a Chinese replica.not happy
I made a meatloaf in the pan and it cooked perfectly. I have always used a stone pan and it would dry out the meal.Not anymore! It baked under the time it usually does and was very moist. I highly recommend!
The picture shown here is not what they send you. Pandoro is an Italian STAR-SHAPED dessert cake eaten during the holidays. Amazon shipped me a ROUND mold that looks nothing like the item pictured here, and would not be suitable for making a pandoro. Numerous attempts at customer service only resulted in additional ROUND molds being sent or offers for a refund. Look elsewhere if you actually want a STAR shaped mold. If you order here, you will get the wrong kind.Basically, wrong item shown here! Hope Amazon can fix it!
i don't know what to say really, i cleaned and oiled these pans before putting the dough into them and the bread stuck like glue to the sides of the pans.i also used a norpro pan which looks identical to the kaiser and the bread popped right out.maybe they have to be used a few times first? I will try again next time i bake but considering that the pans were oiled and the bread was shaped with oil not flour i am amazed at how tenaciously the bread stuck to this pan...
I have it for already several years. I am guessing something around 10. I just use the vegetable shortening for greasing the pan. Pour (scrape) the batter in. Bake. Wait about 20 minutes after I take it out from the oven. Turn and no trouble removing. The bread just slides out from it. I like the size of the pan too. Not too small not too big. Bakes evenly.
The mix oozed under the dividers. I MAY keep the pans themselves but I will just bake a cake and then cut it into strips when I make another checkerboard cake.
This makes the most beautiful checkered loaf cake. Maybe it is because it is my first one. However, the non-stick part was not so non-stick. I sprayed it the first time I used it but it took a while and the cake still did not remove freely. The second time I greased it and floured it, but it still stuck to the pan. I had to wait for it to get completely cold to take it out. Then it was non-stick!
The product is good, and works as expected. It is smaller than expected and desired. It would be extremely helpful to have overall dimensions of the mold as well as the loaf dimensions listed in the product description for this and similar products.
